Govt. of India unveils "twin" of its Lokpal bill which aims to tackle graft in lower bureaucracy. It is citizens right to grievance redress bill. The details are as under
1. 500000 officials to be designated to address citizens` grievance on non delivery
of services
2. 3 tier appellate authorities a dept level, state commission and central commission
3. Every ministry and department to act within 15 days of complaint
4. Citizens` charter will name services and time of delivery, to be updated annually
5. Appellate authority probin graft against public servant will forward it to
appropriate agencies.
This bill would empower aggrieved person to approach the redress mechanism for non
delivery of services.
